The Random Thoughts of Triwi

The Fate of Lelouch Controversy

I went around to a bunch of other blogs today, after I woke up, and read a lot of people’s theorys on why Lelouch is alive or not.  I did find it a little annoying that a lot of people seem to be saying “I’M RIGHT YOU’RE WRONG AND THIS IS WHY.”  My response to those blogs: You’re wrong, I’m wrong, no one is right.  That I am pretty sure, was the whole point of the ending they gave the series.

I do enjoy reading the theories however, I’m not saying “shut up about your theories.”  It’s pretty neat how people can go so in depth with their points and link things together.  What I disagree with is the whole “I’m right you’re wrong” attitude other bloggers are bringing. I’m not going to name any specific bloggers however.

Unless Sunrise and the writers comes out and says “This is the fate of lelouch,” no one is right on their theory. You might be saying “well duh Triwi that’s so obvious whats the point of this post.”  Like I have said though, I just don’t agree with the negative attitude aimed at other bloggers. Everyone is entitled to giving their theory, no matter how crazy it possibly could be.  Follow the majority and say he’s the cart driver and is alive, or give your reasons he’s dead.  Thats fine, and I support it fully, but no one is right no matter how much evidence they put out.

Just my thought on the whole subject. It’s fun to read other bloggers posts on why he might be alive or dead, just not those who bash other bloggers about it.

Code Geass R2 Episode 25 – FINAL TURN
September 30, 2008, 1:16 AM
Filed under: Anime | Tags: ,

The long awaited final episode of Code Geass is here.  A lot of different predictions for the endings are scattered across the internet, tragic ending, happy ending, world resetting (for the lulz), or whatever else you can throw in there.  Me personally I was hoping for a happy ending for my CC, and I got it! Ha ha Guess I have a CC obsession then, first step to recovery is admitting it right?  She’s just so awesome though how could you think otherwise?

Of course you’re not here to read about my CC obsession, you’re probably here to see what I had to say about the final episode of the series.  Going into the final episode I was pretty skeptical, given the recent episodes that were pretty mediocre. I left it pretty satisfied, I do have some problems with it but overall I think it was a pretty neat ending.  To avoid another tangent, I give you my final Code Geass Episode Review:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So we start the final episode with Lelouch confronting his sister, and Suzaku confronting Kallen.  Oh lets not forget the ever useless Gino gets about.. oh at most ten seconds of air time during the fight.
Whole lotta good you did today Gino!
Whole lotta good you did today Gino!
The fight between Suzaku and Kallen however already starts to show it’s gonna be a good one, and thank god, because the recent ones have been pretty lame.  I think the last one I was pretty impressed by was when the Guren got it’s final form and Kallen took it back.
Epic Fight is Epic.
Epic Fight is Epic.
Death star trench?
Death star trench?
Lil bit of Kallen Fanservice anyone?
Lil bit of Kallen Fanservice anyone?
Gotta tell ya though, didn’t exactly care for either side on the whole “who is right” thing Suzaku and Kallen were talking about.  It’s the last episode and I just wanted to get the series over with.  Shame really, I stress again, if the story was not being rushed it could be a lot better. That and a little less inflation of characthers would do just nicely. Thats my wish and this is what they did though, oh well.
Tohdoh is trying to get a little grab action going.
Toudou is trying to get a little grab action.
"Why am I a useless Loli!"
"Why am I a useless Loli!"
WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?
WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE TAMAKI? *anger*
I was a little surprised Lelouch decided to actually his use Geass on Nunnally, well at first at least. I was kind of expecting a lame ending where Nunally was the one all along to be the decider on the fate of the cast and the series itself. Kind of an ironic twist for the ending.  Alas I was mistaken it seems. I am pretty sure he decided to do this because he realized what Nunnally was trying to do.  She was attempting to concentrate the hate onto herself so that she could take the burden.  Lelouch, as we now know, was going to do just the same thing with the Zero Requiem.  Of course Lelouch is not going to allow his sister to be the one to take the blame, so he used his Geass.
"Damn it sis! Give me that key!"
"Damn it sis! Give me the key!"
Loli Nunnaly
Loli Nunnaly
In the back of my mind when I saw the fight start between Anya and Orange, I kind of thought we would see more characther death here.  Instead I got rewarded with probably one of the most EPIC ORANGE MOMENTS EVER.
Orange just gets more awesome as time goes on.
Orange just gets more awesome as time goes on.
ALL HAIL JEREMIAH!
ALL HAIL JEREMIAH!
ALL HAIL JEREMIAH!
Sorry Anya but Orange is just too awesome for you.
This is possibly the only time she changed expressions..
I did kinda feel a little bad for Nunally that Lelouch was acting like a heartless bastard and just left her there on the stairs.  Despite that Lelouch now has control of the entire world with control of the FLEIJA.
"Checkmate Bitches!"
"Checkmate Bitches!"
Now that Lelouch has won all the people are scared to death to even say anything bad about Lelouch.  It seems he’s won with terroristic ways.  But of course thats not actually what he was trying to do alone. Still though why would you chain up your own sister like that?  I know it’s for the “Zero Requiem”  but still, I kinda found that to be a bit odd.
Anyone else compare this to Princess Leia?
Pretty obvious who is behind the mask of Zero now.
The Zero Requiem is finally complete
The Zero Requeim is finally complete
So as we find out the Zero Requeim was for Lelouch to have the world hatred concentrated on him, so he can sacrifice himself to end it all. The moment is a bit of tear jerker for me.  I have been getting a little sick of the series, but even so it’s kind of a sad moment. Poor Nunnaly has to watch her brother die right in front of her, shortly after seeing the images of what he was really trying to do.  It isent fair for her, but it had to be done.   This was a very emotional scene, not since the death of Shirley has an emotional scene like this come around.
Poor Nunnally =(
Poor Nunnally =(
WIth the death of Lelouch and the hatred gone with him, the world is recreated into a better place.   To lighten the mood however here is a silly picture and caption:
TOAST! OM NOM NOM NOM
Don't see Sayoko there, probably off being a super ninja.
Is Lelouch alive or dead?
Considering how the popular topic now is if Lelouch is alive or dead, I might as well give my opinion.  While we may never know if Lelouch alive or dead, I am for alive.  What sparked this whole debate was the final words of CC: “Right, Lelouch?”  At this point the two popular choices are that the cart driver is actually Lelouch, or she is talking to him in C’s world like with Marianne.  Then there is the minority who say he is dead.  I’m not too certain which alive theory I totally agree with, but if I had to choose I say the cart driver is Lelouch.   When CC says the final words she tilts her head in the direction of the driver, sort of indicating she’s talking to him.  Like others on different blogs have said, if Orange could come back from the dead pretty much twice, plus a handful of other characthers, why not Lelouch?
Maybe his Geass went to the final form and he is immortal now. When Suzaku stabbed Lelouch, i’m pretty sure it was Suzaku saying “This Geass.. I did receive it.”  Now it might be a long shot, but perhaps he’s not referring to the “live” command Lelouch gave to him, but his own Geass given to him by Lelouch.  That however brings up the point of why would Suzaku be upset about stabbing him then? Perhaps he did not know of the immortality? To counter this theory when CC was in the church praying, she was crying a little because she knows whats going to happen to Lelouch for the Zero Requiem.  This however could have the counter argument is that even CC did not know his plan or something.  The theory that he’s just dead is something I don’t exctly agree with. The power of Geass could give him the ability to remain inside the world of C, just like Marianne was.  Then again the counter argument is that Lelouch just wanted to die so that the hatred will totally die with him, and if he remains alive in the world of C it’s not “fully gone.” I dunno I’m just spitting out a bunch of different ideas.
The short version of that though is, I believe that he is alive and possibly the cart driver.  I guess you could say I’m just following the majority, and maybe i am. I like I have said a blog post or two back I wanted a happy ending. Considering the writers left it pretty much up to the fans, I’m going the happy ending.  Why would the cart driver need to conceal his face almost completely?  The hat would be enough for shade I suppose.  Silly argument, but I think it’s a valid point.  You can sit there for hours going back and forth of his fate and why each theory is wrong or right, that’s the point of the writers making this kind of ending.  Personally I wanted a definite ending, but oh well it’s kind of fun to debate it.
Is Lelouch the cart driver? Or just some guy? We will probably never know.
Is Lelouch the cart driver? Or just some guy? We will probably never know.
Final Thoughts
Well Ladies and Gentlemen, Code Geass has finally ended.  It’s only been a few months since I first got into the series after seeing an english dub of an early episode of season 1. I got interested and looked it up.  I started around the time R2 Episode 6 or 7 came out and have been watching it with subs of course.  R2 defnitally created a lot of flaws in the series, killing the story with it.  The final episode I did feel helped at least somewhat make up for the last few episodes.  I’m actually kind of 50 50 on the series ending. I’m glad it’s finally over, but I am going to miss it. My CC obsession of course if far from over.  Maybe we will get a few spin off short series? Unlikley but if they did I demand a Sayoko series before the events of Code Geass! It be super ninja timez nao?
I guess it’s time to find the new popular anime to get involved in and start blogging about it. Maybe a comedy, had my fill of action/drama for a little while. Well wherever I end up, I’ll see you guys there!
What’s after Geass?
So with less than 24 hours to the series finale of Code Geass (unless they out of no where change that, highly doubt it), I got to wondering whats the next series I should check out.  I used to watch a lot of Bleach but I did kind of grow tired of it, eventually I’ll catch up with the series but I’m letting it go for now. I got 6 more episodes of Lucky Star I need to get around to watching (Yeah, I know I watch stuff late).  Then there’s The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya that yes, I have not watched yet.
But what about a series to blog about?  Any popular series out there worth checking out?  I’m pretty open to any genre. So anyone out there that comes across this little post, maybe leave a suggestion for me.  Thanks.
Code Geass R2 Episode 24 – Sky of Damocles
So I have decided that I am going to blog about these episodes differently.  Instead of giving a full summary, I figure everyone would have seen the episode before reading a blog post any way, I’ll pick out events and voice my opinion.  Any way, we are coming down to long awaited finale!  Just one more episode to go, and for me one more episode for my lovely CC to live through.  Is it an obsession my laptop and new desktop both have CC backgrounds?  *shrug* oh well!  Onto the review:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This fight was.. eh..

This fight was.. eh at most..

Like the rest of the Black Knights, their usefulness runs thin.  Him along with the few remaining troops get inside the Avalon (too easily in my opinion) in order to rescue the hostages, can’t forget about his loli!

I'd cheer that he's finally dead but everyone has a habit of returning..

I'd cheer Tamaki is finally dead but everyone has a habit of returning.

Was totally expecting her to freak out.

Was totally expecting her to freak out.

If Tamaki shows up in the final episode I would not be surprised, be upset but not surprised.  Everyone seems to have a habit of returning right at the last moment.  Oh don’t worry this episode has more ressurections! I guess you could say for Nina however she has a minor comeback to her character.  Seeming a lot more mentally stable instead of psychotic, I found myself able to tolerate her character for once.  That however is borderline.

Wait for it..

Queue the passionate music!

CC's smile is awesome in this one ^^

The CCxLelouch fans are glued to the screen

The CCxLelouch fans are glued to the screen

Just when you think the CCxLelouch pairing was going to be a reality and you would have some actual romantic part of the series, wouldn’t you know this would happen:

"You bastard! I thought you loved meeeee!!"

"You bastard! I thought you loved meeeee!!"

Wonderful timing on Kallens part.  I gotta say though, lately Kallen has been the new “Nina” to me.  Sure a few episodes back her awesome Guren debut made Kallen the coolest characther ever, but that came crashing down hard.  She should a betrayed the useless Black Knights and gone with Lelouch.  Alas Kallen, I’ve stopped caring.  Let the cat fight over Lelouch’s body COMMENCE!

This is the best they could come up with?

This is the best they could come up with?

I know it was a short amount of time they could actually create something to stop the FLEIJA, but I was expecting something a little more impressive.

Emotionless as always eh Anya?

Emotionless as always eh Anya?

It’s a shame really that Anya’s character is not exactly important any more.  If the story was not being rushed to end by the next episode I would assume her role would have been larger ten fold.

Orange just gets more awesome.

Orange just gets more awesome.

At first, Orange 1.0 and Orange 2.0 were hilariously pathetic.  This useless characther was probably one of the most hated of them all.  Yet Orange 3.0 redeems him of his earlier debuts and just does a stand up job at being probably now the coolest character (even if they run few) of the series.  The metal eye is pretty snazzy as well.  I salute you Sir Orange! May you live through the final episode and continue your legacy into the epilogue!

CC never fails to look just unbelievabley cute ^^

CC never fails to look just unbelievabley cute ^^

The fight between Kallen and CC was totally a cat fight for who loves Lelouch more and you know it!  Kallen who traded some very harsh words in the battle is turning into a total bitch putting it lightly.  It’s really not helping my stance with her character.  I might as well go as far as saying I hope she dies next episode so my CC is free to be happy with Lelouch.  I demand a happy ending for my CC!

Seriously that outfit is really lame Lelouch

Seriously that outfit is really lame Lelouch

Anyone else find it hard to believe Lelouch could really “predict” what Schneizel was going to say for his recording?  Back when he did it to Mao I was wondering but it seems a lot more believable back then compared to now.  It also seemed a very lackluster way to end Schneizel and to Geass him.  Again you can blame the mediocre events on the rushed story.

Sayoko the Super Ninja Maid should have her own series.

Sayoko the Super Ninja Maid should have her own series.

Sayoko continues to be more bad ass by lieing to Xingke, and being good at it too.  Seriously she should have her own series, maybe before the events of Geass when she was getting her awesome ninja powers.  You know you would watch it too.  I salute you as well, Sayoko.

Secret.. Agent man!

Secret.. Agent man!

Are you serious, He’s back? Nothing against his character, but it SHOWED him getting sucked into the FLEIJA explosion!  I’m not buying the Cornellia living either.  Sunrise is really gonna have to come up with something ridiculous for how these two lived, more so for Gulliford.  If he could survive that then expect Euphie and Shirley to come around!  Shirley was never in the coffin and Euphie is a clone! IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!!!  That or everyone are robots now.. I still think Shirley’s death was kinda lame. Yes I was a Shirley fan.

He's changed sides so many times, and expects sympathy?

He's changed sides so many times, and expects sympathy?

Thank god Diethard is finally dead. Oh wait he lives in the world of Code Geass, he’ll be back next episode!  Well in reality I think Diethard here is a character that’s going to die and stay dead.

Your sister and her giant eyes!

The real final boss: Your sister and her giant eyes!

I guess Nunally was the final boss after all.  I am not too sure if you could call her a boss though. Lelouch obviously won’t Geass her.  Since it’s the final episode I’m guessing she will cave in and finally accept his ways, making Lelouch the victor.  You could go with the tragic ending though and have her blow everything up with FLEIJA though.  Lelouch will probably be powerless to do anything against her though, so it’s up to Nunally to decide the fate of the series.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So with one episode left to go, what is everyone’s predictions for an ending?  Also like always I appreciate constructive criticism on this blog. Did you like the new format, assuming you read one of the older ones?  Please leave a comment if you read this far!
Code Geass R2 Episode 23 – Schneizel’s Mask
September 16, 2008, 11:22 PM
Filed under: Anime | Tags: ,
Interesting episode, better then last weeks.  I decided to skip Episode 22 last week as the episode itself felt really lame, not exciting at all.  Other then the whole thing with Nunally and the death of two more Knights we didn’t even know, not much action. Episode 23 on the other hand was a lot more interesting, still the series does seem to be continuing its crash and burn path.  Ah well just my opinion, onto the episode review!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The episode starts with the U.F.N. leaders reacting to the FLEIJA bombing, shortly after becoming captive from the last episode, of the imperial capital Pendragon.  Amidst the confusion, Sayoko appears badly injured demanding she be able to talk to Emperor Lelouch.

Never once doubted she would be taken out of the series that easy.

Gonna take more than FLEIJA to kill Super Ninja Sayoko!

Lelouch who in reality is petrified by the fact his sister is alive, and is announcing herself as his enemy, attempts to cover it up by claiming he too is her enemy with his hands shaking.  She feels betrayed that both Suzaku and Lelouch have been lieing to her.  After the conversation, Nunally asks Schneizal if the people of the capital Pendragon were safe, Schneizal says they were evacuated prior to FLEIJA being launched.  Nunally then asks if she can be the one to detonate the FLEIJA, so that she can at least shoulder the sin of it’s destructive power.  Cornellia confronts Schneizal about him lieing about the citizens of Pendragon to Nunally.  Schneizal reveals he lied to her so that Nunally will stand up in her resolve against Lelouch.  Cornellia also learns that Schneizal plans to use the FLEIJA to take over the world using fear..  Cornellia attempts to stop him but is gunned down in possibly the dumbest way so far for a character to go.

Not a fan of Cornellia, but Sunrise did a dumb way to take her out.

Not a fan of Cornellia, but at least make her death epic Sunrise.

Lelouch however is quite angry that Schneizal is using his own sister against him.  Along with harsh words from Suzaku (who I think joined Lelouch’s side too easily) and comfort from CC, Lelouch is able to fight on.  Meanwhile Nina, Lloyd, and Cecile appear to be working on some kind of weapons to help battle against Schneizal.

Britannia has some strange food..

Britannia has some strange food..

On the black knights flag ship we find out that Gino has joined the black knights so that he can fight Lelouch.  I’m not too sure how much Gino is going to do though, unless out of no where his Knightmare has some secret weapon, Suzaku is just going to rip him apart yet again.  I just don’t see the character doing too much for the remainder of the series.

He may or may not play an important role in the future, we shall see.

He may or may not play an important role in the future, we shall see.

As Schneizel and Lelouch’s armies eye each other up in the sky, Lelouch reveals he is using the U.F.N. leaders as hostages.  Even though Schneizel does not exactly care about the leaders, this will probably be a deciding factor later on.  The battle starts with both sides positioning their units without even a single shot fired.  Each side keeps advancing and retreating trying to figure each others moves. Finally after this amusing back and forth scenario, Lelouch is the one to start the fighting.

Not the Lolis! Anything but the Lolis!

Not the Lolis! Anything but the Lolis!

At first Schneizal seems to be easily destroying Lelouch’s army with ease.  Lelouch uses his secret plan to detonate the Sakuradite Mines underneath Mount Fuji to destroy a good portion of the black knights.

Lelouch always has some trick up his sleeve.

Lelouch always has some trick up his sleeve.

We also learn that Villetta is not going to be a part of this battle and is to remain on the island of Peng Lai as she is pregnant.  By doing this I have a feeling Sunrise plans on killing Ougi by the end of the series, I would not be surprised if they did.  Back at the battle however, Schneizal has Nunnally fire a a FLEIJA warhead, and some of Lelouch’s troops sacrifice themselves as ordered to detonate the bomb before it reaches the Avalon.

I wish she would of had a bigger part in these last few episodes.

I wish she would of had a bigger part in these last few episodes.

Schneizel has the upper hand in this battle, but Lelouch appears to have another trick up his sleeve involving Nina.  Whatever Nina is working on might be what stops Schneizel once and for all, but this is just my guess. Lelouch however questions if he should trust her, because as Zero he was the murderer of Euphie, whom Nina as we all know adored to an extreme level.

Never know what Insane Nina is going to do next.

Never know what Insane Nina is going to do next.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not sure if you can tell, but I rushed this blog entry.  I would still appreciate comments though, any constructive criticism is welcome!  What are your thoughts on the series now compared to what it was?  I personally think the second season was not as great as the first.  It was rushed, inflated with a lot of characters, and it’s had a lot of plot holes.  I find myself enjoying the series less as it finally comes to a close these last few episodes.  Of course, I’m going to watch the rest of the series though.  We all want to find out the ending, even if the story line is being rushed. I also for myself want to find out the fate of CC, whom is my favorite character, Sayoko is my second favorite character.
Welcome back from the article! Ok so today is the day the LHC was turned on.  Apperently when they turned it on it bugged out for a minute but turning it off and on fixed it.  How silly, something that simple fixed a massive machine.  So my guess is on the black hole when the particles collide.  It’ll start inside the cannon and slowly expand eventually engulfing the earth and further on, the universe.  It’s got a few months until the scientists plan on firing a beam in the opposite direction though, so we have time to live.  I’m not blaming the scientists or anyone for the possible end of the earth, I think it’s awesome.  Ok so maybe a black hole wont be started.. but heres a few pictures for the lulz(click for original size):
